TRAINING METHODOLOGY
Trainees in the City Action Coalition Institue:
- Must be mature Christian high school and college students and members in good standing at their local congregation; possess a letter of recommendation from their senior pastor and or senior minister; espouse the stated mission, methods, and values of the action coalition; believe that the Bible, is the inspired word of God; be humble, teachable, a team player, and willing to be coached in the processes as outlined in training orientation.
- Must attend sessions once per month during the months of September to June, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., usually on a Saturday, regarding the Christian worldview and the political process. Webcast training will be provided eventually in various regions of New York for statewide effectiveness and influence.
- Will commit to one year (approximately ten Saturday sessions) before they receive certification as representatives of the action coalition. Ideally, at least one trainee per congregation will be designated as their church’s action coalition coordinator and/or action coalition liaison to facilitate the continuum of training, congregational support, communication, and action. Because this coalition is local church-centered, pastors will have to both recommend and release those in their congregation to participate in this program as trainees before we accept them.
- Must pay a small $25 fee per session to sponsor the mission. A local church can decide to sponsor trainees if they so choose.
- Upon graduation, certified action coalition representatives will become part of an action alliance and encouraged to meet four times per year for more training, coaching, and strategizing with key local, state, and national leaders in media and politics. Pastors of these representatives are always encouraged to come to all trainings, meetings, and gatherings.
